Bourton-on-the-Water is a place that I've visited on a few occasions. It's a cute little village in Gloucestershire that has traditional cottages and tea rooms. At Christmas they decorate the tree in the river with fairy lights and all the cottages by the river decorate their houses. Last year, my family and I went to watch the Christmas lights get switched on but we couldn't make it this year because of university deadlines (third year problems). Therefore, we decided we'd go and visit Bourton-on-the-Water before Christmas anyway.
We began by going into some tea rooms for some homemade cake and a hot chocolate - cream and marshmallows are obviously a must when you're having a hot chocolate! It was one of the best hot chocolates I've had in a while!
We then had a wander around the village to look at all of their Christmas lights. This jewellers always looks so pretty at Christmas.
